Wear and tear
Also see Osteoarthritis - is inflammation within the structures of the joint such as the cartilage, synovium (lining of the joint capsule) and capsule. It is not just a wear and tear but a wear and repair process. This means that the body repairs it self by producing new tissue or bone. Sometimes the repair process is delayed or not sufficient making the joint stiff and painful. This process can therefore be helped but not totally reversed through strengthening exercises and generally keeping fitter.
