 Meet our physiotherapists


Christina Carlsen MCSP completed her physiotherapy training in Sweden in 1975. She has worked abroad in private clinics, hospitals and rehabilitation centers as well as running her own private practices in Denmark and Israel before opening in Ealing in 1990.

Christina has extensive experience in treating musculo-skeletal problems and postural dysfunctions and specialises in the treatment of sports injuries, back and neck problems. She is qualified in acupuncture and also specialises in workstation assessments, both for the home and work

Christina is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine (ACPSM), Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (ACPOHE).

Jason Laird MCSP began his career studying for a BSc in Sport Rehabilitation, graduating with a First Class Honours degree. He then went on to complete his Masters degree in Physiotherapy. He has worked in the field of musculoskeletal therapy for over seven years working with a wide range of people including elite athletes. He currently combines his work at Ealing Physiotherapy with work for the Chelsea FC Academy.

Jason is currently undertaking a second Masters degree in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy. This enhances his ability to offer you the most effective treatment techniques and rehabilitation programmes.

Jason is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine (ACPSM), Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) and is also an Associate member of the Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP).


Helen Robartes MCSP qualified in December 2007 from Stellenbosch University South Africa. She has worked in private practice in South Africa and England and has a strong interest in sports injuries and rehabilitation. She is currently studying for an MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy.

She believes in addressing the body as a whole during treatment and works to improve body alignment, movement and posture as part of the treatment process to prevent recurrence of pain. She is trained in dry needling and Pilates.

She is passionate about horses and horse riding.

David Barker MCSP qualified from Northumbria University in 2008. Before moving to Ealing Physiotherapy he worked for The Canadian Back Institute on Vancouver Island, British Columbia where he specialised in their cutting edge treatment of spinal dysfunctions, orthopaedics and sports injuries. He worked with a professional Ice Hockey team, gaining extensive experience in sporting injuries. David’s time in Canada is enormously beneficial for our patients.

David is back in the UK to complete a Masters degree in Advanced Neuromuscular Physiotherapy. He is looking forward to develop his skills of manual and manipulative treatment and give his patients the most up-to-date injury management strategies available. His particular interest is treating cervicogenic (neck related) headaches; a topic he wishes to study further as part of his Masters.

David is a keen sportsman having represented Yorkshire at rugby and competed in national downhill mountain biking championships. He is a keen adventure racer, combining his enthusiasm for mountain bikes with his love for kayaking and trail running. He is passionate about helping people get back to having fun with their sport and exercising pain free.


Photo of Karthik Krishna MCSPKarthik Krishna MCSP (full name Karthikian Krishnaswamy) qualified as a physiotherapist in 1998. He has 4 years experience in sports medicine treating and rehabilitating elite teams. He also has had several years experience working in the NHS and for the British Army.

He has an MSc in musculoskeletal disorders and in 2006 trained as a Credentialed McKenzie Practitioner. He is currently one of only two recommended practitioners on the McKenzie register for the Middlesex region. Karthik will shortly embark on a PhD programme in Back Pain Research at King's College. He is passionate about cricket and plays whenever he finds the time to keep up his cricketing skills!
